The LiPro1-1 RS485 V3 module protects your valuable lithium (LiFeYPO4, LiFEPO4, LTO...) cells. The module constantly monitors the cell voltage. As soon as the cell voltage becomes too low, the 1st safety loop opens for deep discharge protection. The safety loop is led through all LiPro1-1 RS485 V3 modules and then to a relay that switches off the load.
The module has a second safety loop to protect against overcharging. As soon as the limit voltage is exceeded on a module, the 2nd safety loop opens, which switches off a ovp relay. This relay switches off e.g. the charger. In the case of photovoltaic systems, for example, the connection between the solar cells and the charge controller can also be interrupted. If the LiPro1-1 is operated together with our greenController, it can evaluate the two safety loops directly. No further relays are then required.

There is also temperature monitoring. If the temperature is too high, both safety loops are switched off. In this new V3 version there is also an adjustable charger switch-off at low temperatures. Many cell types must no longer be charged at cold temperatures, as otherwise the cells will be destroyed by dendrite growth. In the worst case, the dendrites penetrate the separator, which can lead to an internal short circuit. To switch off the charger at low temperatures, the OVP safety loop is opened and the charger is switched off. When discharging, low temperatures are usually not that critical. Nevertheless, a shutdown can also be set here.

Charge equalizer (balancer):
The LiPro1-1 RS485 V3 module also contains a balancer that diverts the charging current so that it bypasses the cell when the equalization voltage is reached. At more than 1 A, the equalizing current is significantly higher than in most central BMS systems (often only 50 to 100 mA).

  • Maximum tolerance of the limit values ​​less than 0.1% FS! (Maximum 5mV, typically <= 2mV)
  • Low power consumption (<15 mW)
  • Has an electrically isolated RS485 interface
