High-Precision Battery Monitor:greenMeter
You get a 20% discount on our greenMeters. These are brand new with minor cosmetic defects (scratches or contamination). We also provide a five-year warranty for these devices. The technical parameters are not affected. This new battery monitor has been developed to accurately measure currents. After over two years of development, we are proud to have achieved a measurement error of less than
0.04%.
Why is measurement accuracy important? In off-grid power systems, the challenge often lies in measuring relatively high currents while also accounting for very small standby consumers. These standby loads, present 24/7, play a crucial role in accurately measuring the battery's state of charge. A precise measurement is also essential for detecting and preventing "leak currents."
Losses at the Shunt?More accurate sensors often have a higher voltage drop and thus higher losses. The reason is that higher voltages at the shunt can be more effectively evaluated. We were able to keep the resistance very low. The data can be found in the table. As a result, the losses are generally smaller than those from a fuse.
What is the function of greenMeter? The greenMeter can measure the battery current in both directions precisely (bidirectional). It also measures the battery voltage using two sense wires. With the internal
amp-hour counter, the
SOC (State of Charge) can be accurately determined. With two switching outputs, the load or charging process can be disconnected if the current or temperature exceeds safe limits. The greenMeter can be integrated into the positive lead compared to most other solutions. If you want to measure charge and load currents separately, you can integrate multiple greenSwitches into one system. Targeted measurement of individual consumers is also no problem. Up to 247 devices can be connected to the bus.
Which displays are compatible with greenMeter? The following displays or apps are currently supported:
- greenView (Color TFT display with touch)
- greenViewM (ECS app for Android, via WiFi converter)
- ECS Kommtool (PC/notebook software via WiFi, USB)
- greenView Desktop (PC/notebook software for connection to greenView via TCP/IP network)
- Third-party software thanks to open standard protocol (Modbus RTU)
